R.I.P. My little ninja frog.

On Tuesday I came home for lunch and decided to check up on my frogs. I had recently changed there habitat and have been watching them closely. They went from very little water and lots of land to a lot of water and some land. They seemed to like it. I had a tank that was pretty much a 10 galleon terrarium cut in half, which made it a 5, but the base of a 10. Perfect for frogs. I even had this giant rock stuck inside of it. Since the rock was so big and the tank wasn't very tall, I had it laying flat. Which gave them and there live food plenty of room to walk around on. Well, the tank is not made to hold a lot of water, so I decided to get a 10 galleon aqua terrarium instead, as they are made to hold water. I bought a water filter,a lid and called it good. Well, one of the frogs was missing. I freaked out, couldn't find him in the tank anywhere. Stacie and I tore the apt apart and could not find him. So either his frog buddy ate him, which is very unlikely, or he got out and one of the cats ate him. Since they are slightly positions I was even more freaked out. I guess it's just slight enough that the cats will be fine, just an upset stomach.

I cried for a little while and have tried to get over it. I had him for like a good three or four years though. So I am pretty bummed.

With the new tank, the rock is a bit small. It fits inside fine, and since there is only about 7 inches of water it sticks out a tad. But not a lot. Just enough room for a frog to sit on it. Which means the crickets would all drown. Trying to keep my last frog alive I went to the pet store hunting for something to stick in the water. I found the platform thing. Its plastic but the outside rim of it looks like rock. And there is a stick that also looks like rock that holds it up. Its a good foot long. I covered that in purple gravel to match the floor. The frog seems to love it. There is lots of room for him and his food to walk around. I also bought a few small plants and stuck those in there. So its looking really sweet. I will need to take some pictures and post them.
